About Susan McClain
Susan McClain is a Fort Langley artist who captures the world with big, bold colours, creating expressionistic depictions of flowers, landscapes, urban scenes, and beautiful creatures. As a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, she has established herself in the local BC art community with her lively approach to painting. Her basement studio in Fort Langley serves as both gallery and creative space where, alongside her two pooches, she finds both passion and joy in the act of painting. Susan invites viewers to see familiar subjects through a fresh view that celebrates colour and emotional expression.
Artistic Style
Susan’s work spans BC landscapes, seascapes, florals, abstracts and animal paintings. She draws inspiration from what she loves most: the beautiful florals that demand attention with their boldness and the breathtaking landscapes that make British Columbia so special. Her paintings invite viewers to see familiar subjects through a fresh view that celebrates colour and emotional expression.
Susan paints with what she describes as happy, crazy abandonment, always seeking to bring new energy to her subjects. She works in both acrylic and watercolour, pushing boundaries and looking at new techniques to keep every piece lively.
Featured Works
Susan’s portfolio spans landscapes inspired by BC mountains, seascapes, expressionistic florals in lively colours, and pet portraits. Each piece is created in her Fort Langley studio and reflects her unique ability to change everyday scenes into bold visual statements. Her work ranges from intimate watercolour studies to large-scale acrylic statement pieces.
